Probably the best Stephen King movie/series. The feeling is great, and the ending is pretty epic.

The concept, the location, and the environment of this series looked good, and sounded good, but once I started it, talk about a long and drawn out story that doesn’t seem to really go anywhere. I had a hard time staying focused, and I kept getting distracted out of boredom. There is not reason for this story to be over four hours long, and be made into a mini series. A hour and a half to two hours movie would of been more than enough time for this story.

I know this was a Stephen King adaptation but it's a book/story that I've not read so I can't say how close to the story this actually is. It _is_ a bit dated...but of course, Stephen King adaptations are _never_ as vivid as his written stories really are, so that should come as no surprise that this falls short. It does seem a bit dated, but the story was solid. There were really no A-listers in the cast so the acting was so-so. The biggest gripe I had was that it took three nights to air this. It was a solid story - whether you enjoy the ending or not - but man, it just seemed to go on forever. I would call it a worthwhile viewing; it may run on the lengthy side for some while others may feel it's suited for a three-night run. The main strong point, in my opinion, again is the story itself. I have a feeling if I can find this in print form, it will make for a truly amazing read. SK screen adaptations just always seem to fall well short of the mark.
