Ziemlich schüchtern tritt Tim Bayliss seinen Dienst im Morddezernat von Baltimore an. Er wird alles andere als freundlich Willkommen geheißen: Abgesehen davon, daß es im Büro nicht einmal einen Schreibtisch für ihn gibt, ist keiner der Detectives sonderlich begeistert von der Idee, mit dem idealistischen Anfänger zusammenzuarbeiten. Kay Howard, der einzige weibliche Detective des Morddezernats, setzt sich schlichtweg über die Anweisungen von Lieutenant Giardello hinweg und „überläßt“ den Neuling ausgerechnet Frank Pembleton, einem notorischen Einzelgänger.

How is this not on a streaming service yet? This began so many careers and so many franchises, have to see this piece of TV history!
One of my first TV shows ever. One of my own personal THE BEST TV shows ever. of course there's other, those days we have almost perfect stories so anybody can find its preferance. In whole world of TV shovs, there is genre, a line of shows with cops, crimefighters. NY PD Blue, The Wire, etc... but this one I call my favourite. There several reasons and since I'm also in this branch, maybe I see something deeper, such is main characters with foults, own problems, unhapiness. And big thing is that you may see here that world is not perfect. Cases of murder are not all solved. It takes lots of time and energa spent and all that in vain. White board in episodes can be see few times, and it has red (unsolved) and black (solved) cases. This is what makes this show more perfect, more realistic and my favourite.
This show was one of my favourite ever, and introcued me in the world of serial shows!!!

Unable to watch this in 2024. Probably a good, genre-defining show back in its day, but it has not aged well.
