The Revenge Club starts off incredibly fun and ambitious. The humor, camera angles, and suspense are all on point until you hit episode six. It feels like a successful business that was sold off at its peak; the ending feels like it was handled by a completely different director. The plot buildup leads to a climax that feels rushed and honestly a bit lame. It lacks the creativity of the earlier chapters and leaves you wondering if you just wasted your time. It’s a great show with a subpar ending, bear that in mind before diving in.
A fun but overdone watch. The casting, for starters, is brilliant. Edwards, Compston, Syal, Rooney, Henshall, and Kular. The dynamics were effective, and the humour was definitely British. The premise was great too, though unrealistic. A divorce therapy group, revenge, and murder…that's all I needed to hear. I tried overlooking the plot holes, but the predictability and conclusion threw them all back at me. It's like the writers gave up with their last-minute 'either-or' situation and decided to go completely left with the least sensible option available. At least it got a reaction out of me, albeit a deflated one.
