While the 2023 Lupin III vs Cat's Eye was an enjoyable film, this spin off series was far from exciting. Drawn by the team with similar style of Crying Freeman, the action animations was actually superb for a TV series. Unfortunately, the concept of combining Catwoman with Charlie's Angels was a fail to be explored further in this series. Based on 3 first episodes, Cat's Eye used the same formula of Lupin III, stupid cop chasing theae 3 girls who are collecting their father's painting works. However, it became boring awfully fast. Policeman was stupid and thieves were smart, especially female thieves. A nudge saying women are smarter than men, even when they made deadly mistakes, Cat's Eye has happy ending. Compared to the film where the cop found out midway into the film who Cat's Eye thieves were, this series became stale by 3rd epiaode. If I got the timeframe right, at the end of the season, they would have a cameo by Lupin III, since this was before their meeting with Lupin III as the movie story was. If you missed classic anime style drawing and humorous actions, Cat's Eye should be enjoybale. But nowadays, even filler anime series have stronger story exploration that made Cat's Eye looked ancient. It's a skip for me.
