I think this show was wasted on network TV when it obviously should have been on a premium cable channel like HBO or Showtime. Considering the subject matter, I'd be willing to bet someone had kompromat on some FOX executives and used it to get the show produced and aired on television during prime time despite f-bombs within the first few minutes of the first episode. Given the specifics of some of the jokes, there must be a LOT of inside jokes and situations based on real events in every episode, and I'm sure there were a lot of phone calls made IRL after each episode aired where someone said, "YOU must have told SOMEONE about that time...." Basically it is a very interesting experiment in television history. It represents a confluence of real-life influence, cynicism, and the inordinate power that Hollywood executive weasels wielded in the 90s with the bitter, jaded, anti-establishment comedy writers who were were able to hang and party with the executives and still remember what happened after the hangovers wore-off.
