8/10. Rowan Atkinson doing what he does best. Total chaos, lots of coincidences, but still a fun, easy watch.
This shit is pure ragebait. I fucking hated it. Man vs Bee was infinitely better. I love Rowan Atkinson but this isn't it man...
Rowan never disappoints was funny and simple
That was almost painful to watch and the heartwarming finale was not nearly enough to redeem the overall impression
If you ever wonder why middle-class young men have given up on marriage for the past couple of generations, just watch the first ten minutes of the pilot episode. It plays like a recruitment ad for the MGTOW movement. At first, I thought it was a bleak way to open a comedy. Then it sinks in. The guy is still grinding away to scrape together money for his ungrateful kid, while the mother decides to bail and take said kid on a Christmas vacation to Barbados with mum’s new boyfriend. On top of that, he has already handed over the “good house” to the mother-daughter duo and moved himself out to some rural shithole with no heating. Honestly, good on Rowan Atkinson for sneaking this bleak little setup under the radar as a Netflix-funded comedy. Hats off to you, sir. All in all, it's a decent Christmas mini-series. However, it's a massive downgrade from his previous work such as Mr. Bean and The Thin Blue Line.
