Am 21. Dezember 1988 kommen 259 Passagiere und Besatzungsmitglieder ums Leben, als der Pan-Am-Flug 103 von London nach New York 38 Minuten nach dem Start explodiert. Auch elf Einwohner sterben beim Absturz des Flugzeugs über der kleinen schottischen Stadt Lockerbie. Dr. Jim Swire und seine Frau Jane verlieren bei der Katastrophe ihre Tochter Flora. Jim wird zum Sprecher der Familien der britischen Opfer ernannt, die gemeinsam Wahrheit und Gerechtigkeit fordern. In dieser Mission reist er um die Welt und setzt sich über politische Grenzen hinweg, riskiert dafür sogar seine Gesundheit und sein Familienleben. Schließlich verändert sich seine Sicht auf die Welt für immer.

A brilliant watch, very detailed and touching account of the incident and subsequent battle for the truth. Well done to all cast and crew involved. Wonderful performance by Colin Firth as Dr. Jim Swire, who himself deserves so much recognition for all his bravery in his relentless pursuit of justice. Let’s hope the families finally get the independent public inquiry they deserve!

Interesting plot, perhaps could have been better narrated with 2 or 3 less episodes. Especially the first tear-jerkier episode could have been avoided.
Excellent executed, magnificent performances by all. I didn’t remember the incident, first episode was captivating , rest follows a great unraveling of the story. Let’s hope than on 2025 they will get justice and something new comes up. Excellent binge only 5 episodes dramatic and great cinematography.
