It is again a show that tries to build an environment so complex that it never ends up going too deep into it. And, as is becoming too common, it gives the impression that there are two linked stories, that of the puppeteer Vincent and that of the policeman Michael, which come together to form a whole that ends up being dispersed. And it ends up being more interesting in the section that focuses on the secondary character than the one that develops the main character. There are so many ups and downs in the plot that it ' difficult to know if this is a disappointing series or just a poorly developed story.
8/10. Surreal as Benedict Cumberbatch’s acting is, in “Eric”, the gritty atmosphere of New York City in the 1980s is masterfully captured. Although lengthy, this show is a real gem because it interrogates deep themes.
I love Benedict, but OMG, this show was soo boring. I can understand the story was serious and intense but FFS; they could have done it in a single movie instead of all these episodes.
It started out so good but this motherfucker went right off the rails in the last two episodes. And, holy fuck, what an unbelievably shitty and disjointed ending that left me feeling betrayed. Wish I’d never watched this abomination.
Well, I can agree that none of "the family" was sympathetic, but I still enjoyed the series. I also think it should have been just made into a movie instead of having to keep reloading since it was all showed at the same time. I did like the ending. I especially liked catching the bad guys. I didn't find it boring but I would have like some more closure on some of the characters and what happened to them afterwards.
