The subtitles are seriously atrocious.

rating this so low physically hurts. up until episode 8, it's like the perfect little comfort show. does what it wants to achieve wonderfully. I wish I'd just stopped watching then. starting with episode 9 the show just goes completely downhill. I think the writers for all their good intentions unfortunately got too ambitious for the time constraints they had. Ai's family trauma we've built up for so long? done and over with in like one episode. all the interesting love interests for the friendship group whom get introduced to? never goes anywhere. the last episode is just a mess of like three different story lines started and never finished. I literally thought I'd accidentally skipped an episode because I didn't know where any of it came from. the only sparks of light in those later episodes were ai's dads, sip and jaonan. I loved these two together and it made me so happy to see them. the two main actors' physical chemistry was great and they seemed very comfortable acting together. I just wished the script would've played to their strengths more in that. I felt like a lot of the more awkward scenes could've been fixed with different direction. the chemistry was there and it worked in other scenes! idk if it was simply not in the vision but a lot of it would've been better if they hadn't had Nhai shy away from physical contact so often after they already got together. it just made their dynamic awkward imo. let the man get his little neck kisses damn. I also loved the side characters, the friendship group was so fun to follow. they unfortunately just weren't utilised to their full potential. same with Singh. we're just never seeing him again after halfway into the show? that's so upsetting. tl;dr. ep1-8 : 10/10, love to see it ep9-12 : upsetting to my spirit
