Joan (Marcia Gay Harden) ist eine erfolgreiche Anwältin und hat trotz ihrer drei Kinder ein Jurastudium finanziert und durchgezogen. Sie startete direkt im Anschluss eine sehr erfolgreiche Anwaltskarriere. Ihr Sohn Todd (Skylar Astin) ist eher das Gegenteil seiner Mutter. Als planloser Privatermittler versucht er sich über Wasser zu halten, was eher schlecht als recht funktioniert. Als Joan sich von ihrem Mann trennt, braucht sie moralische Unterstützung, die sie ausgerechnet bei ihrem Sohn Todd findet. Er fängt bei ihr als Ermittler in der Kanzlei an und trotz ihrer Unterschiede und seinen ungewöhnlichen, oft nicht legalen Methoden, funktionieren sie als Team sehr gut.

Loved the pilot and with was funny. Marcia and Skylar are awesome in this.
Honestly it was a fun show to watch and you get caught with the fun and exciting characters, sadly the show was cancelled after the second season and leaves you hanging a bit a the end. One more season and they could have wrapped up the story at least, but still happy I saw the show.
I finished watching it for Marcia G.H. only. Their sons and daughter characters are horrible. Duck Todd, the worst.
great show. why cancel? well, I assume it's because how much Skylar and Marcia cost to be on the show, and I wish they would've at least moved it to Paramount+ or something.
Fun show, shame it got cancelled. Similar feel to Psych.
