Schon seit sie ein junges Mädchen war, ist Melinda Gordon, in der Lage tote Menschen zu sehen und sogar mit ihnen zu sprechen. Die erdgebundenen Geister suchen sie auf, um mit ihrer Hilfe unerledigte Dinge aus der Welt zu schaffen, um so endlich die Erlösung auf der anderen Seite zu finden. Manchmal fällt es Melinda sehr schwer ihre Gabe zu akzeptieren, besonders als sie frisch verheiratet ist und ein neues Leben mit ihrem Mann, dem Rettungssanitäter Jim Clancy beginnen möchte. Ihre Freundin und Teilhaberin im gemeinsamen Antiquitätengeschäft Andrea Moreno, ist fasziniert von Melindas Talent und obwohl Melinda ihre geheimnisvollen Fähigkeiten manchmal als Segen, aber oft genug auch als Fluch empfindet, hilft sie ihren Klienten – lebendig oder tot – immer ihr emotionales Gleichgewicht wieder zu finden.

One of the series I miss most. Always uplifting, with really nice story throughout the series and can see the characters develop. The one thing that I liked a bit less is how they made a 5 year jump in the last season, I get why, but I sort of miss what happened in between.
Sort of reminds me of a paranormal version of Touched by an Angel. Joking aside, sort of, I really liked this show. Far far far better than some other related shows like Medium (the most hated show I’ve ever had the privilege of turning off).
*Ghost Whisperer* est une série que je regardais quand j'étais adolescente et j'en garde un très bon souvenir. Ce n'est peut-être pas la série la plus incroyable que j'ai vue, mais c'est typiquement le genre de série réconfortante que j'aimais retrouver à l'époque. J'aimais beaucoup l'ambiance un peu mystérieuse, les histoires de fantômes et surtout le côté très humain de la série. Derrière chaque enquête, il y avait souvent une histoire touchante, ce qui rendait les épisodes agréables à suivre. C'était une série simple, sans prise de tête, mais qui arrivait quand même à transmettre de belles émotions. Aujourd'hui, elle a peut-être un peu vieilli sur certains aspects, mais elle garde un côté nostalgique auquel je suis très attachée. Bref, une série sympa, pleine de douceur et de bons souvenirs pour moi.
Imagine if Hallmark made The Sixth Sense. It's watchable I suppose, but, there's no real chills on offer and, for the most part it's unrelenting American mush. Seasons 1-3 are passable. Season 4 onwards seems to dive head first off a cliff; thanks to the departure of Jay Mohr and the previously mentioned "spirit-swap". The least said about season 5 the better (think of GW Jr as Scrappy Doo/Godzooki), in fact the more I digest this show the shitter it gets. Let's face it, most of us are probably only watching for JLH (for which it gets an automatic 5 stars). On another note, why do attractive people on US TV nearly always have ugly kids?
