This show is from the era that Comedy Central thought pranking regular people by involving them with improv comics to make fun of them was high comedy. The pre-Jon Stuart Daily Show and Crossballs did the same thing. They might catch some funny moments, but overall the shows failed to work because most viewers don't have the same cynical contempt for regular people that Hollywood network executives do. It was also created by Sacha Baron Cohen's partner who made a point to frame regular people as inherently anti-Semitic, so there was always a undercurrent of bitter meanness such as what is typical of SBC's "comedy."
