Das Ehepaar Samantha (Rose McIver) und Jay Arondeka (Utkarsh Ambudkar) träumt vom Ausbruch aus dem Großstadt-Trott. Die Erbschaft eines Landhauses scheint ihnen den Neuanfang zu ermöglichen – sie wollen das Haus ausbauen, um Touristen zu beherbergen. Schnell finden sich zwei große Hürden: Das Haus ist wirklich in einem sehr schlechten Zustand… und es „leben“ dort die Geister von Menschen, die im Lauf der Jahrhunderte dort verstorben sind. Für die ist der Plan, ein Hotel in dem Haus zu eröffnen, der pure Albtraum. Doch wie wird man die menschlichen Eindringlinge wieder los? Die Geister besinnen sich auf ihre Spuk-Fähigkeiten – leichter gesagt als getan.

I just don't agree with all these comments about just watching the UK version. The Americanized Office worked, why can't this one? That is all you hear, "don't they ever have any ideas of their own?" There are countless attempts at original shows every year and no one watches them either. Starting a show with a built-in audience just make sense sometimes. And after just seeing the hour premiere, I do enjoy it just as much as the original. They did change some of the characters and im all for the differences.
I honestly think the U.S. version is better than the U.K version. It has better comedic timing, likable characters, and overall I like the chemistry a lot more between this cast overall then the other series, everyone feels more friendly and has great interactions, especially between the main couple, so I think it's great. (I also love Rose McIver, so that's a nice touch!)
Just saw the first episode and it's utterly terrible. Watch the BBC original instead.

This adaptation was properly done. Do I prefer the UK version? Sure, but this is still a fun watch. Discount all the British TV elitist reviews written before the Oct. 7, 2021 premiere.
