the story is all over the place, both literally and figuratively. the story keeps moving from one timeline to another, and it seems like the characters can teleport wherever. the writing is messy and i have so many questions (like; so why the suitcase? is the han tae-san alive or not?? what about eddie kim (edit:
i swear i wrote this before i watched episode 16. now I'm very annoyed because the last 20 minutes was just absurd
) interesting concept but weak writing
More holes in the story than a fishing net. Don’t bother.
WOW! Incredible series! I see some here are complaining about the writing - I assert they should probably be complaining about the translation instead. Others are complaining here about the many plot holes - I'm not sure they quite understood the show and the plot. Normally I am against jumping back and forth in time. However, this show made it work quite well. The show also included multiple timelines or a changing timeline. Which just makes one's brain hurt if you think about it too hard. I do have to say that even I was a little confused about
the ending where Tae-sul and Seo-hae are on the plane - but I attributed it to an alternate timeline
, but we may not know for sure about that until a possible season 2? How I rate: 1-3 ❤ = seriously! don't waste your time 4-6 ❤ = you may or may not enjoy this 7-8 ❤ = I expect you will like this too 9-10 ❤ = movies and TV shows I really love!
I actually quite like it. While far from perfect, it's refreshing to experience Korean movie makers that actually put some heart into their work, compared with the current western productions (great visuals, but storywise just lousy reboots and retcons). The repetition of names gets rather annoying. If you'd make this a drinking game, let's say take a small sip of beer every time you hear the name "Han Tae-Sul"... you'd be totally wasted before even seeing half an episode.
Regardless of all the holes in the story and lots of ridiculous fight scenes, overall I still kind of enjoyed it. It was dragged out too long and I took breaks from watching it, as I came bored. The fight scenes were beyond ridiculous, especially at the beginning when about 20 - 30 men tried to storm a tiny flat. Why? :person_shrugging::female_sign: I did like the fact they tried to make it complicated with layers, even although they didn’t pull it off. It was enough for my imagination to take over. Unfortunately for me the ending spoilt it. They should have stopped about 5 mins earlier
and let the main female character fade away. However, I did like that they brought Eddie in at this point to show the future still remains, even although there’s a new protagonist. But, practically everything after was ludicrous. How did the starring couple actually make it...the plane scene? I’m completely confused with that. If they met as a result of her growing up, he’d be quite old. After all, she is 9 when he’s an adult. I really don’t understand how they got there.
Despite the faults, it was still fun to watch.
