Antique merchant Wei Yo-li, back with his wife Hiu-hsien from a business trip to the mainland, is angry with his son Chiu-sheng for taking away his Gold Buddha figure as prop for an experimental movie. He takes his son to task, but his wife cools him down. Dedicated to the antique trade, Yo-li yearns to have his son inherit his business some day.
