Vansh Sood
Vansh Sood (born March 26, 2004, in Chandigarh, India) is an Indian actor, writer, and director, best known for his passion-driven approach to storytelling and his upcoming feature Kalakaar: A Journey Within (2026). With roots in theatre and monoacting, Sood’s career reflects a deep connection to acting as both an art and a calling. Born and raised in Chandigarh, Vansh discovered his love for acting while in the 10th grade. Even while preparing for the JEE examinations, he devoted himself to self-training — rehearsing in front of the mirror and learning dance. After JEE, he joined acting classes formally and became an active member of the dramatics society at Punjab Engineering College.
During this time, his performances earned him five awards in monoact competitions across college festivals in India, marking his entry into performance arts.
Vansh made his acting debut in the short film Chandmaraa, which gave him his first experience in front of the camera. Inspired by his favorite actor, Ranbir Kapoor, and driven by his belief that acting is a sacred form of expression, he began exploring ways to tell stories that were both personal and universal. In 2026, Vansh will present his most ambitious project to date — Kalakaar: A Journey Within, a feature film that he has written, directed, and starred in. Initially planned as a short film, it evolved into a feature as the story grew more personal and profound. The film explores an artist’s struggle with identity, passion, and the pressures of commercial survival, mirroring Sood’s own artistic philosophy.
