Ihren internationalen Durchbruch feierte Marilyn Monroe 1953 mit "Wie angelt man sich einen Millionär" und "Blondinen bevorzugt". Zu ihren populärsten Filmen zählen weiter "Das verflixte 7. Jahr" und "Manche mögen’s heiß". Monroe verkörperte in Ihren Rollen, mit Weiblichkeit und Sinnlichkeit, das naive und unbeholfene Mädchen in einer von Männern regierten Welt.
