Melvin Kenneth „Mel“ Smith (3. Dezember 1952 – 19. Juli 2013) war ein englischer Komiker, Autor, Filmregisseur, Produzent und Schauspieler. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine Arbeit an den Sketch-Comedy-Shows „Not the Nine O'Clock News“ und „Alas Smith and Jones“, die er gemeinsam mit seinem Comedy-Partner Griff Rhys Jones aufführte.
