The plot twists were refreshingly unexpected and not overly done. The chemistry between the cast was incredible.
"It's weird. I spent so much time imagining what we had in store. It was so real and clear in my head. And now, it's not going to be that way. It's gone, and... I miss it somehow. I miss things that didn't even happen." Heartfelt and hilarious. Really clever writing. So many twists and turns, could never predict where this was going next. Beautiful, nostalgic filmmaking. Zoey Deutch AND Ruby Cruz, are you trying to kill me or something?
This movie generated a bit of emotional terror in me at one point, you identify with the father and the one who was most manipulated, of course this one doesn't show the full phase of Connor's feelings, usually men aren't like that or maybe they are... complex no doubt, because it is equal or almost equal to Ruby's personality but nevertheless it is difficult to explain, sometimes only love is commitment, they said.....
“I’m a lifetime fuck up trying to convince the world that I’m not.” I got my triple feature kicked off with an absolute gem. I absolutely enjoyed everything about this movie. It felt very genuine and honest. It was kind of refreshing to see a romantic comedy that wasn’t so cliché. This was a rollercoaster of ups and downs and unexpected surprises. I thought the heart was in all the right places. I laughed out loud several times and I smiled throughout. The cast was probably my favorite part. I’ve always been a fan of Zoey Deutch and she was excellent here. I wasn’t familiar with Ruby Rose but I will be now. She’s was stunning and super likable. Jonah Hauer-King was also great. I’ve only seen one other thing that he was in earlier this year but I’ve really liked what I’ve seen so far. It was just a very likable cast of characters that felt very human and relatable. This was definitely one of the more refreshing romantic comedies that I’ve seen lately. I’d highly recommend checking this one out. * Triple Feature at AMC Crestwood 18
