This is what it would look like if you filmed an entire motion picture in selfie mode with the beauty filter on max.
omg this movie is iconic... the mostly-cgi bike chase scene? literally groundbreaking
It’s sooo bad, that it’s good...we have a conundrum. _Ultraviolet_ is way over-the-top, cheesy, and flat out ridiculous, yet it’s extremely entertaining and fun to watch. In the war between Humans and Hemophages (a genetically altered sub-species dubbed “vampires”), an underground freedom fighter named Violet comes across a young boy that may hold a cure. The CGI and special effects are especially bad, but the film uses an interesting comic book aesthetic that makes it work. And, the filmmakers have created a rich science-fiction world with some fascinating high-tech gadgetry. At its core, _Ultraviolet_ is a textbook guilty pleasure film that’s honest about what it is and just tries to have fun.
Well... could have been better. While the general idea behind the flick is cool, the adaption wasn't to my liking: why had they to use a soft-focus lens? Why are all the SFX clearly recognizable as such? Why haven't the characters more "depth"? All in all just a mediocre Sci-Fi action flick.
If you can get passed the art direction of selfie beauty soft focus and over saturation its not a bad story.. Is it the best cinematic experience.. No but its not filled with politic and virtue signalling of the modern world. Back movie were just stories.. Not a mirror for irl. Just escapism for a few hours. Thou. The line.. " Because... these moments... as beautiful as they are... they're evil when they're gone" hit me hard so true this is. The pain of losing the one thing you were living for. Makes those memories evil and torture you..
