Old basic cop flick with the simultaneous search for a bomber and a rapist that could identify him. Two main things jump to mind when seeing it. 1) If a woman walks alone, there is systematically a man that will try to rape her, out in the open like this. 2) The cops are basically criminals too. Violence, torture, death threats... And they just start gunning to kill without any warning or care for the civilians around. There could have been a solid story with a little work, but it is completely botched on several points. The bomber sends cassettes explaining his actions. It's never mentioned once on the police side that tries to understand what he wants through psychologists or mystic computers. Did they not listen to it ? Didn't the newspaper transfer it to the police ? When doing the bomber's portrait, they don't even mention the glasses. The rapist's MO changed and even evolved to murder. Never mentioned by the police either ? Did they not find the mast victim ? So can't say much on the police work. Basically it's just sending women as bait, catch whoever assaults them, just naturally instinctively know which one is the one they're looking for, and threaten his life to get the bomber.
