Primzahlen sind Marguerites große Leidenschaft. Die brillante Mathematikstudentin ist die einzige Frau im Promotionsprogramm unter dem renommierten Professor Werner an der École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Doch als sie bei der Präsentation vor einem Forschergremium mit einem gravierenden Fehler in ihrer Arbeit konfrontiert wird und die Fassung verliert, lässt ihr Doktorvater sie fallen und widmet sich ganz dem talentierten Promovenden Lucas. Tief erschüttert und voller Selbstzweifel wirft Marguerite alles hin und sucht sich einen Aushilfsjob. Schnell muss sie erkennen, dass auch das Leben außerhalb der Universität überraschende Erkenntnisse bereithält und sich weder die Mathematik noch Lucas so einfach aus ihrem Leben verbannen lassen.

A fantasy play. Why do you need a college professor when you're inspired by mahjong? Random to kill other people's feelings, in addition to the heroine, others are tools. I thought it was a biography, but it turned out to be fiction. It's fake.
Embarrassing! Please get rid of this unhealthy idea that whoever works in mathematics is a genius unable to live in society. And the end of the movie is even more ridiculous: people clapping, happy for this incredible result that has not been reviewed... That's completely unrealistic. And also, whenever a movie is about mathematics, it turns around Golbach, or Riemann or other millennius problems. Come on, be more realistic: 99% of mathematician don't recognize themselves in movies like this one. 2/10
[Cannes '23] You might expect a script written by a four-person team to find a less conventional way of developing a story that's so "mathematically" structured that it's too predictable, especially in a third act that doesn't seem intended to depart from other formulaic films about numerical conjectures, without renouncing the constant movement to reflect the restless brain of the protagonist. It's as easy to watch as it is harmless in its approaches, although somehow it manages to elaborate a discourse on our society through the portrait of a character who finds it difficult to fit into it.
