There is a woman in the yard and a man in my basement.
A unique experience. I'm still not sure what to think about it.
Please stop it with the 2 hour movies, especially if most of it is filler... I really liked the premise, but the main character "Charles" was really tiring. He kept going on about how he wanted Dafoe's character gone, but why? He was always just sitting there chilling, yet every day "Charles" got more and more agitated for absolutely no reason. At every passing moment "Charles" become increasingly annoying, and it kinda sours the whole movie. The pointless ending didn't help either.
I also became irrationally annoyed by the actors never pretending like the masks were heavy. I mean, weren't they supposedly made of gold??? Those big things should be insanely heavy, but they're just holding them between two fingers 🙃... And yes, like I said it is an _irrational_ annoyance, I know. It's a movie, who cares.
Far too long and incredibly boring. The worst horror I’ve seen this year,.
Mosley’s writing is as polished as ever, but the plot meanders without clear payoff. The central mystery loses steam, and by the time the philosophical themes take center stage, the suspense that hooked the reader early on has largely faded. In the end, _The Man in My Basement_ feels like a story that wanted to say something profound about guilt and humanity but got lost in its own basement of ideas. Thought-provoking, yes—but not as gripping or cohesive as it could have been.
