the three female leads were ACTINGGG I really liked this!!! the ending fell a tad flat but the suspense and build-up kept me hooked the whole way
Excellent acting from the two leads elevate this unusual horror movie.
This is just a romantic gay movie, not horror at all.💤
Refreshing with some Jewish mythology for a change. The movie is a bit hit and miss though. The first part feels very hurried, stressful even when it should be introductory to the romantic young couple. Middle is quite all right, playing off the cultural collision of Maja in Jewish London. Some really nice scenes, in particular the quiet frustration of Lev trying to explain to Maja what's what. Unfortunately as it moves on it steps on familiar horror grounds and doesn't impress doing so. Twists are not very surprising, the illustrations of possession are much too similar to the regular Leah and while interesting with the Kabbalah variant of exorcism the finale is disappointing. I'd say it's still worth watching for the curious and the culturally interested though those looking for demonic possession scares are better off with the good old Exorcist.
A fairly simple story, but still quite original for a horror, not really a horror-horror, but still quite good. I like the fact that it features a queer couple where it is no issue at all that they are a queer couple. Nice to see Ellie Kendrick again after her role as Anne Frank.
