The Chinese Bud Spencer does not pummel much here. Is a sort of career self-tribute, inside a light Chinese-style family drama. Quite pleasant and honest for what it wants to say.
I've watched Jackie Chan movies since my childhood. It was a really good homage to Jackie Chan and his style of filmmaking. 10❤- Masterpiece 💯 9❤- Excellent 8❤ - Amazing 👌 7❤- Great 🌞 6❤ - Good 👍 5❤ - Average 🤕 4❤ - Bad but watchable :octagonal_sign: 3❤ - Bad 😭 2😡- Awful :face_vomiting: 1:face_with_symbols_over_mouth: - Bull Shit
The film intertwines themes of legacy, family, and the changing tides of the film industry. While it showcases Chan's signature action sequences, the narrative also carries an emotional weight, reflecting on an artist's twilight years. Despite its ambition, the film struggles to balance its sentimental undertones with the comedic elements, resulting in a viewing experience that may resonate with long-time fans but could leave others wanting more clarity in its storytelling.
I really liked this movie.
The film unfolds within a framework of action and comedic moments, centering on “Lao Luo,” played by Jackie Chan — a stuntman in action films who uses his smart horse, “Red Hare,” trained for combat and obedience, as the main star in most of his scenes. Financial Struggles Lao Luo faces financial difficulties and finds himself dealing with personal issues, especially with the daughter he lost touch with long ago. Unable to care for his beloved horse Red Hare, he seeks help from his daughter and her boyfriend after learning that the horse may be sold at auction to cover his debts.
