Probably the most hard hitting, brutal and disturbing piece of cinema churned out by Bollywood ever; The Kashmir Files blows your mind and how!! The unfortunate events of January 1990 when lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits were compelled to leave their homes and become refugees in their own country is so realistically recreated that you get the feel of actually standing right there beside them witnessing the atrocities they faced.
I want to apologise to each and every Kashmiri Pandit for being ignorant about this genocide in behalf of every Indian who stayed silent and ignorant for more than 32 years. I am ashamed that we couldn't do anything. But Not anymore. Not anymore. Hum Dekhenge.
To start with, we don’t know how much of the movie is facts and how much is fictionalized. But the movie definitely wants to portray what most people want to believe when there is not much literary on the issue. But definitely couple of things I feel are good things brought out were, How media is manipulated sometimes and minorities are always controlled by majority.
This movie is an eye opener for all of the people who live their life in closet and think they are struggling.
There was an eerie silence in theater! Jam packed audi. No noisy long queues on food counters of the theater during intermission. Nobody talking a word. Petrified, just looking at each other. Viewers who got their snacks before the movie, in all probability, couldn't eat as I could see trays with almost untouched food in front of chairs when they left. Eyes wet, lump in the throat. Absolute silence. Never experienced this ever before. That's the review!
