I'm not sure exactly what the plot of the movie is, there seem to be a multitude of plots overlapping with each other. But the movie starts when six bodies are found in a pit on the grounds of a mental institution. THere's also an assault case from years before and a woman named Annabelle who looks very much like that assault victim. Not to mention the fact that Annabelle has a very vague past. There are lots of suspects and lots of interesting interpersonal things going on between the Detectives and people on the case. I think that's the strength of the movie, the characters, because the mystery jumps around and is just a bit vague in places. I haven't read any of Lisa Gardner's books, so perhaps that was the problem, but just here and there during the movie there seemed to be something missing. (NOt to mention some of the music cues didn't seem right). But really the first reason that I watched was Briget Regan who was pretty good in it (She played the Annabelle character) Carla Gugino was also in it as the Sgt. Detective in charge of the investigation and she was great in her role. THe other two Detectives played by Mark Paul Gosselaar and Kevin Alejandro were fine too, but their characters didn't seem to have the same complex backstories etc as the two women. Still, on the whole the movie was good, especially for it being a TV movie. A three point five stars to start, but of course it gets an extra half a star 'cause it takes place in Massachusetts (though its subtle). So a four star movie.
