_meaner...leaner...stronger_ _can you feel the_ _power...terror...fire_ Is this a perfect film? Not at all. The first time I watched it I was full of conflicting emotions, grappling back and forth between "this is so dumb" and "but it's like...not bad". I couldn't stop thinking about it afterwards and also wanted to see some of those action sequences again (and hear the Meaner Leaner Stronger refrain and see the dances again because they're STILL not available on YouTube and also see [spoiler]that Cooper drive through the mall[/spoiler] lol) so I gave in and watched it a second time and lo and behold, maybe because I knew what to expect this time around, I enjoyed it fully with no qualms. I'm quite thrilled. Do I wish there was a more interesting dynamic between the hero and the villain? Yes. Do I really regret 1) that we didn't get more song & dance sequences, and 2) that those sequences don't amusingly occur in the middle of the mall hijacking? Naturally. (I was really looking forward to point 2 especially because that would've been hilarious and if anyone could pull that off it'd be Kollywood.) But I'm nevertheless extremely fond of this quirky, irreverent film that doesn't take itself too seriously and certainly doesn't let you take it seriously either.

this movie is a joke. I wash I could go back in time and stop me from watching this. only good thing is the BGM

Beast is an unapologetic fan service to Vijay's crazy fan base. While Vijay lives upto his sharp screen presence addtion to a crazy BGM by Anirudh, the film is overall a tedious, irritable affair due to its inferior writing. Full Review : Instagram @stream.genx
