The trailers severely overhyped this movie..they only showed the good parts. Didn't laugh or smile once. They made up some completely random storyline that doesn't even remotely relate to garfield
The Garfield Movie was actually pretty good, although the characterisation and underlying themes are of a similar style to most of the box office animated movies released this century (likeable but cocky 'everyday' character with parental abandonment issues is forced to become a hero when paths cross with aforementioned parent, vainglorious antagonist with brutish but amusing henchmen, circumstances along the way bringing about emotional moments that then lead to understanding/reconciliation of the lead protagonists, bad guys going good, etc). That said, it's an enjoyable family-friendly film that does the franchise credit, despite it only loosely resembling the 'traditional' fat, lazy, lethargic Garfield as depicted in the original comic strips.
CATFLIX is now my favorite platform. Definitely watch it. It's fun, nice and can be watched with the family.
I liked the Catflix videos in the credits, otherwise it was entirely forgettable. Go and watch one of the other much better animated movies from this year like Inside Out 2 or Robot Dreams, even Kung Fu Panda 4 was a stronger movie which isn't saying a whole lot. It's not in the territory of horrendously terrible in most ways, it's just really not worth the time spent watching this.
I didn't think Pratt and Jackson's voices fit well on their roles. Producers could have spent those talent fees in improving the movie.
