I'm only 11 minutes in and already I hate it. I hate the horrible acting, I hate the self-important "all men are scum, and I'm the most important person on the planet" charade by Megan Gallagher ("Dr. Landis"), I hate the sheer stupidity of the entire storyline... so far. We'll see if it gets any better but at this point, with the film being 24 years old, I'm not holding my breath... 15 minutes and I'm out. I wouldn't recommend this tripe to anyone. The dialogue in the first 15 minutes was enough to convince me this isn't going to become a "good movie" about halfway through; if anything, it's going to get even worse, the "all men are scum and I'm the most important person on the planet" female doctor is going to become even more domineering...until nearly the last act when she has a "vulnerability scene" wherein she breaks down in tears and lets the world see her as an emotional, caring, feeling professional and not the cold, power-hungry manipulating shrew that she's been up to that point... Come on, you know the film; we've seen these a thousand times. The president (poorly played by Bruce Boxleitner...there's a household name for you, absolutely) will either miraculously survive and the world will all rejoice when he brings peace to the Middle East _because of_ his survival...or he'll die and there will be sad music. Either way, this film is going to blow chunks, and I'm not wasting any more time on it. My suggestion is that you don't even give it 15 minutes.
