A sketch style comedy movie . One after another death events happen by misunderstandings or accidents , but there is not a core story to bind them together . There are some highlights , without a sense of unity .
*Bad Decisions: The Movie* The intro sequence through the lodge halls followed by the girl on the couch were my favorite moments, perfect way to start a movie. Lovely camerawork throughout, fabulous soundtrack and I like the color palette. Lots of weirdness which is always welcome. *Some* horror elements. The dark comedy hit a couple times but it was mostly a miss for me, and it's very comedy-centered so that has a big impact on my general appreciation of the movie. I was therefore left with the mystery aspect to rely on but there's not much here. Really started losing me in the middle but then the third act arrived and it turned out to be really fun. Just like the opening, they nailed the ending.
Like finding a sexy stranger on your partner's phone, it's better if you don't ask too many questions. While this (1998) film looks good enough for its age, and we get to see a young Song Kang-ho, the story of a mountain inn where tons of people die is thinner than a bullet-ridden corpse and has just as many holes.
Pretty decent debut from one of the beat directors currently working. No great shakes but keeps you entertained and has a good sense of humour.
