[Netflix] A gorgeous film that has remarkable technical quality, a beautiful music by Amine Bouhafa, and outstanding visual ideas. But it also contains difficult-to-answer questions about man's need to overcome his limits, the superhuman effort of wanting to reach the highest peaks. An exciting metaphor about the human being and the responsibility of achieving his dreams.
Like an educational comic your aunt gives you for your birthday. A cartoon based on a manga based on a true story of Japanese mountain climbers and there you go, just like that you've already seen the movie. It's not bad, it just made me remember Krakauer's book about death on Everest, 'Into Thin Air', is better.
A beautifully animated film about a lost mountaineering legend and the myth of the first ascent of Mount Everest. Even though everything is animated, I was captivated from the start by the beauty and silence of the mountain, as well as the ever-present danger of death. The very harmonious sound design mixed with the fantastic images make the film almost perfect for me.
Best animated movie I've watched in a while, I am yet to watch Inside Out two though. But this one holds a special place in my top animated gems out there. Especially the last half-hour, and the end credit bgm. Solid Eight.Five
A great movie with an engaging plot that makes us reflect on various issues, featuring high-quality animation and even some visually stunning scenes.
