A documentary with a personal angle – but also a very narrow one. The entire focus is on Ireland and the village of Addergoole, where 14 people boarded the Titanic. Only three survived, and the film attempts to offer a sense of justice for their fate. But without meaning any disrespect to their descendants, this is one of the dullest tribute-style documentaries I’ve seen in a long time. Completely flat. The filmmakers lean heavily into Ireland’s poverty (something most historians are already well aware of), and carefully build up a portrait-style narrative – quiet in tone – only to abruptly shift to the disaster and end just as quickly. I can't recommend it. Too flat, too careless – at best, 50 minutes of filler. Possibly of interest to Brits or Irish viewers on a dreary Thursday, but for everyone else: skip it. 🌟 Rating: 3/10 Production: 3/10 Cinematography: 5/10 (Decent archive intimacy) Authenticity: 8/10
