The visual effects are amazing! Chinese cartoons get a new level!

Absolutely stunning visual masterpiece that is looking for an equal, not only in the chinese animated movie space. The story and themes were also deeper than expected, just like the sea I guess! If you can experience this in a cinema, preferably in 3D even, it should be experienced that way!

Visually one of the greatest animated movies I've ever seen. Narratively, there are issues with it, but overall I'd say the story is done pretty well and the ending is so emotional.

Very strange animated movie, with characters with hyper-mobility and too many bright colors. Also it felt like the animators had just learned to animate fluids and decided to make the entire film shiny and wet. It looks overwhelmingly chaotic in most scenes and the story was a little too close to Spirited Away for my taste.
