This is what happens when a film mistakes loudness for emotion. Outdated masala that would've worked in the 90s but lands like a relic in 2019. The writing is melodramatic to the point of unintentional comedy and the logic goes out the window every 15 minutes. Riteish as the villain though - completely committed, genuinely entertaining, and honestly the only reason to sit through any of it. He understood exactly what kind of film this was and leaned in fully. The music saves whatever dignity remains. Tum Hi Aana alone is worth more than the screenplay.

This movie makes me wonder why the directors thought that a dwarfy Riteish Deshmukh made for a good villain. Yes, he is slightly psychotic but who is going to be scared of him. I think he would made more of an impact full-sized. Also, Tara Sutaria was really cute in this movie but the plot ruined it. The pairing between Malhaotra and Sutaria had the potential to be so much more outside of such a cliche and cringe film like this. This movie was a bad choice on the actors' part.
