The genre of father-son struggles has certainly been beaten to death and I am afraid to say that this movie does nothing that we haven't seen before. Surprisingly comedic and uniquely styled. Bill Nighy is totally likeable while being entirely destructive.

After reading the synopsis, I expected something far different, especially with the cast involved. However, my expectations were blown away by a unique stylistic approach, a unique acting turn from Nighy, and a semi-comic tone that didn't seem to suit the film's story. In line with the film's title, it sometimes always never stayed in line with the my assumptions, and that my dear friends is a good thing.
