Anna Fox führt in ihrer New Yorker Wohnung ein Einsiedlerleben. This movie is god awful. The storyline is just terrible. It's a complete bore. And it's a shame that they waste such a good cast. The final act is just plain bizarre. The entire movie I kept thinking that I would rather be watching Rear Window, or even Disturbia.
Not to be ~that person~ but I enjoyed the book a lot more. The cast was amazing, I just think this story works better in book format.
Windows, phobias, knives, shadows of doubt...yup, we’re in Hitchcockian territory again. Thankfully, Joe Wright is at the helm so its a well made film. Still, I wasn’t completely satisfied by the ending...it went south instead of going north by northwest. Sorry! Logic flew out of the window but as that is something that is common within this genre the plotholes can be excused.
I very rarely have an overall negative opinion of a film but this was a baffling collection of bad filmmaking choices. The only thing they got right was the cast, who _almost_ salvage this. Almost every aspect of this film just doesn't feel right, from the music to the direction. It's genuinely quite odd.
The tempo was all over. The music was great, but way over the top, especially the first ~20 minutes of the film. You don't know what's happening, but you feel manic. I never rooted for any of the characters. Fantastic acting with a great cast, but a rushed story and over the top editing made this fall flat.
