This is a movie that does a nice job of bringing together several themes: coming of age, homosexuality, life in a small conservative town, etc. I thought it was a good script and well acted. Not as twee or as predictable as I expected. This is a touching story of friendship with a good sense of time and place. Deeper than it first appears, this is a pretty effective movie.
