it's a classic, but like most classic movies it's lost on us when we see it. Whatever this pioneered has been redone so many times that and improved that it's difficult to understand why this was so well thought of in the first place. As old movies goes, it's good, I just don't appreciate older cinema like others may.

Supposedly, this Polish movie is in Martin Scorcese and Francis Ford Coppolla's top 10. I dont get it. The lead actress, Ewa Krzyżewska, WOW! What a beautiful woman.

Thrilling opening sequence, beautiful cinematography throughout. The lead character oozed charisma, he was like a Polish James Dean in that jacket. I don't think I saw this in a version that had the best subtitles, as the action on screen sometimes felt a little opaque (although some of that surely was intended?) Overall I wanted to like this more than I did, and would want to rewatch with better subtitles.
