Sly mustn't have a mobile in irl as he'd know you don't need to shine a torch light on the screen to watch a video call. Garbage film.
Just when it seemed hard to do worse than the second film, Escape Plan 3 arrives to prove that there's always room to fall a little further... even if it's just by a tiny bit. It's true that this entry is slightly better than its predecessor, but that doesn't mean much when you're starting from such a disaster. The movie is a collection of clichés, repetitive fight scenes, and a plot that doesn't even try to be engaging. Stallone goes through the motions, but it feels like even he knows this isn’t going anywhere. The prison, which should have been a tense and exciting setting, ends up being just as bland as the story holding it together. There are moments when it feels like things might finally take off, but it quickly falls back into predictable and boring territory. This is a movie to watch with your brain completely switched off... and even then, you might still wonder if there wasn’t a better way to spend an hour and a half of your life. Another unnecessary sequel that only proves some sagas should have ended with their first movie.
I haven't seen either of the previous movies, so I don't draw any comparison. This roughly 90 minutes felt more like an extended episode of some show than a movie in it's own right. I couldn't stop thinking how stupid those flashlights were. There is plenty of light to see by, but not enough that those flashlights wouldn't give you away. And did anyone else think that
Bao
is set up to become the next villain??! I mean, watch him crawl all alone and injured through some sewage tunnels, while the rest is save and relatively sound back in the US.
First two movies was great especially that one with arnold. This one is slow paced and completely different. Just some few brutal death and few fight scenes. Other than that its trash
I realize I'm at work and i'm watching it in 3-4 minute segments but 11 minutes into this movie and I want to quit. The visual style has changed YET AGAIN and this one looks bad as well but it looks 90s bad. The Martial Arts ... don't really fit here. But I don't mind a franchise being taken over by Martial Arts. Heck that improved Skyline in it's sequels. But this is just so poorly shot and boring I don't understand Oh these absolute goobers are trying to bring back the end of The Escape Plan into this movie. hahahah. That wasn't a great narrative angle that we needed to explore. lol I'm dying just laughing at that.
