Dooby dooby doo! I have now seen every Meredyth Herold movie... all two of them! Honestly, she was the main reason I wanted to watch this. I also wanted to see what other madness Nikos made after _Singapore Sling_. Sadly, this was nothing like _Singapore Sling_; no surprise, really, I mean, that movie is one of a kind. I feel a little weird about reviewing this, seeing as how I don't speak Greek and there were no subtitles. I think I still followed exactly what was going on, plus it added to the fish-out-of-water component with Patricia only speaking English. With that said, I'll tell you what is a universal language: Meredyth in various levels of undress. Ah-cha-cha! Nowhere near as graphic as she was in _Singapore Sling_, but better than nothing. So, the story itself is pretty simple, until it's not. The writing is weak. The pacing is slow. The tone is odd. I take it this is supposed to be a comedy, but even if there were subtitles, I still don't think the humor would translate. The movie felt like one really long act, instead of the common three-act structure. Trakt lists the genre as comedy, and romance... sure, but, here again, we have another case where the more apt genre would give away twists. That said:
This is a crime story. Patricia stole money. The cops bust her. She goes to prison. Has a baby while in prison, and geez, I don't think they make the baby live in prison. Are Greek prisons that harsh? They make newborns serve time along with their parent?! Fuck me!
It's a shame Meredyth wasn't in more movies. I did notice some similar mannerisms between Patricia, and Daughter/Laura, which makes me think it's just how Meredyth is. I think she's just a fucking kook. I mean that with love, by the way.
