Movie is nostalgic since it tries to refresh the backstory of the show that got cancelled.Unfortunately, there is a lot of filler in the movie to try and extend it's time, I think it would have been better to make a new season instead of a movie, but I guess this can work as a pilot run in order to decide if they want to restart the show.
Of course it's good! Just for the nostalgia factor, it's all good to me. I missed GIR so much!
I love all the screaming.
By far the best revitalization of a nostalgic cartoon I've seen. Invader Zim was, and still is, a show I hold very near and dear to me. I loved it as a kid due to its loud and ecstatic form of humor, and I love it today because of that, but also just because of how _dark_ it is without coming off as _edgy_. Jhonen Vasquez is a creator who is fully aware of how utterly stupid this show's premise is, and uses that to create something that is extremely dark, yet at the same time not take itself too seriously. And that's Enter the Florpus' greatest triumph: it never takes itself too seriously. Sure, there are emotional moments. The bond between Dib and his father is a prime example of that. But they never focus on it too long, and always have some kind of joke surrounding it so it doesn't feel like it's losing what makes Zim, well... Zim. And, to me, that makes the emotional moments even better. Not only that, but this movie doesn't go out of its way to pander anyone with a gigantic pair of nostalgia goggles. It's not filled to the brim with references to past episodes or any of that stuff. It's just pure Zim-y goodness through and through. So much so that it really feels like it hasn't missed a beat in the fifteen years the show has been off the air. I mean, they explain the hiatus in canon that Zim has just been in a toilet laughing this whole time. 10/10 film.
