Waste of Casey Kasem, Danny Kaye, and particularly Vincent Price's voices. One of the worst Rankin-Bass specials.

Ageism spares no one, not even Easter bunnies

Complete and utter crap, Rankin/Bass’ _Here Comes Peter Cottontail_ is a mass of stupidity. When Peter Cottontail oversleeps and loses an Easter egg giving contest to see who will become the new Chief Easter Bunny, Peter attempts to fix his mistakes by using a time machine that travels to holidays and gets lost. Featuring the voice talents of Danny Kaye, Casey Kasem, and Vincent Price, the cast is pretty impressive, but the material they have to work with is awful. The plot makes no sense (especial the time travel), the characters are ridiculous, and Cottontail is pretty unlikable; as he’s always lying and tricking people (which the film tries to turn into a moral). Also, the songs are rather lackluster, as is the stop-motion animation. Poorly made, _Here Comes Peter Cottontail_ is one of the most slapdash and confounding holiday specials Rankin/Bass ever put out.
