Nur mit Mühe und Not konnten der Schriftsteller R.L. Stine und seine jugendlichen Mitstreiter die real gewordenen Monster aus den Geschichten des Gruselbuch-Autors wieder ins Reich der Fiktion verbannen. Doch das war erst der Anfang. Als die beiden Freunde Sonny und Sam in einem verlassenen Haus nämlich auf ein verstecktes Buch Stines stoßen und es öffnen, entfesseln sie damit erneut das Böse – in Form der mörderischen Bauchrednerpuppe Slappy Anfangs sieht es so aus, als wolle sie nur Teil der Familie sein. Doch nach und nach wird klar: Slappy möchte weitere Horror-Kollegen in die Menschenwelt holen, um so eine wahre Apokalypse zu entfesseln. Gemeinsam mit Sonnys Schwester Sarah versuchen Sonny und Sam, Slappys teuflischen Plan zu durchkreuzen…

Better than the first at times and Slappy is definitely better. Feels more like the Goosebumps series than the first. Which was more about family fun than scares or creepiness. Although I don’t remember Slappy having powers in the first. I thought I would miss the cast from the original. The new cast is pretty good though and the sequel is so entertaining I forgot I missed them lol.

Great family movie for the Halloween season. Our family prefers this one over the first one in the series. Agree with other comments that it needed more Jack Black. Love how they set it up for a trilogy but seems with the TV show we may never get the third installment.
