A couple of things: - The Stand battles look great. - I guess they're cutting out Red Hot Chili Pepper from the movies altogether. - Feels really odd they cast an actor to play Koichi who looks at least 10 years older than Josuke. - The movie will make zero sense to people not familiar with the JoJo series because they don't fully explain anything. No Joestar history. No Dio. EDIT: This was never meant to be a stand alone movie. The cliffhanger at the end suggests as much and unfortunately due to bad reception from viewers and film critics, all planned sequels have been cancelled.
While the costumes suck and the cgi could've been better its finally good to see a live action that adapts the story to its full potential only changing things here and there so it can fit the length of the movie. I also like how they made this much more personal than the show. The only thing I didn't like was the ending. It seems they are jumping the Red Hot Chilli Pepper assault and go straight for Kira. That kind of breaks the pace of the story. They also say have this tendency of saying something like the audience is aware but it was said off screen. It's weird. But overall 6.5/10. Solid adaptation and hope it gets a sequel. Next is Gintama.
Even if you know nothing about the JoJo manga/anime, do watch this movie. It's great as a stand alone movie (if you skip the cliffhhanger in the ending). Unlike what another comment said, they don't mention Dio or talk in depth about Joseph but the movie still makes sense.
This will premiere in Switzerland on the 2nd of July and I ain't even mad about it <3.
