Funny enough I actually decided to watch this based off a reel I came across on instagram. I never even heard of this until today. It was like a mix between ‘Five Feet Apart’ and ‘A Walk To Remember’. Believe it or not they tried to make it even more depressing than those. This would’ve worked so much better if the acting wasn’t so bad. The majority of the cast is awful. The two leads weren’t bad but the supporting cast left a lot to be desired. I did enjoy the romance and I always love a depressing story. This was right up my alley but it didn’t quite hit me the way I was hoping it would. I really liked the two leads weren’t characters. I thought they were extremely likable and I bought into the romance. Faith-based stories never bother me but this didn’t really land that part well. I wouldn’t say this was bad at all and I can’t say it was corny or cheesy because it was based on a true story. I actually didn’t realize that fact until the end credits. I just wish the production value and supporting cast were a bit better. This had the potential to be very special but needed more experience behind the camera. With all of that being said the heart was in the right place, it was romantic and it had some emotional moments. All things I look for in movies like this.
