Honestly Im a huge fan of the anime, and manga, just look at my damn avatar! I love Ichigo and was hoping they don't butcher this, cause I would be so disappointed. But for a live action movie adaptation they got a lot right, and don't expect it to pack all anime and manga all into 108 minutes, for a live action adaption of a fantastic anime series this was pretty good. Honestly I enjoyed it, and I loved the character of Ichigo in the movie, and for what little time they had, they did some decent character development. You could only do so much, and I was hoping for more, lets just hope their is a BLEACH 2 so they can jump deep into the Bleachverse. If you are a fan of Bleach you will enjoy this.
I have not seen the anime, so don't know how it compares. But as a standalone movie it was ok, keep me entertained enough.
If Scarlett Johansson does not appear in a live action movie do not expect much production, however, Netflix revindicó with the genre, after the rain of denials received by Death Note. Bleach was entertained, kept the mood that characterizes it, Tite Kubo jealously watched the production to run the luck of you know who (Death Note). Acceptable if you are not a rigorous that expects to see the manga or the anime in 108 minutes.
Adapting a manga as popular as Bleach to live action was never going to be easy, but the film manages to come out pretty well. From the start, you can feel the intention to respect the spirit of the original: the characters are convincing, the first arc is well condensed, and the effects do their job in bringing Hollows and Shinigami battles to life. One of the strongest points is the cast. Sota Fukushi gives Ichigo the energy he needs, while Hana Sugisaki brings strength to Rukia, making for a believable duo. The rest of the cast supports without clashing and helps the film avoid the pitfalls of other adaptations. Visually, the artistic design works and the CGI, while not spectacular, delivers what’s expected. The fight scenes are well staged, with choreography that keeps the rhythm and music that recalls the anime, reinforcing the connection for fans. The story is straightforward and avoids unnecessary subplots, making it easy to follow even for those unfamiliar with the manga. That said, cramming so much into less than two hours means some characters or twists feel rushed. Overall, Bleach stands as one of the most respectable anime-to-live-action adaptations. It’s not perfect, but it works both as a standalone film and as a tribute to Tite Kubo’s work. An entertaining production that leaves a good impression and opens the door to a sequel set in the Soul Society.
They should replace the Byakuya actor, he was trying hard to be fierce. Everytime he showed up, he was pulling the movie down. If they will retain him, then the director should tell him to relax and to own the character. He does not need to copy the Byakuya in the anime adaptation. Own the character, be a unique Byakuya. As for the Orihime character, they should've signed-up a Korean actress, they know how to act cute. That was Orihime's charm, being cute. The actress for Orihime was too serious but in fairness she did well in looking "innocent".
