Pinky Rose: "You're the most perfect person I ever met." Millie Lammoreaux: "Thanks." I know Shelley Duvall gets a lot of praise for this film; it is obviously well deserved, but I feel like sissy spacek, just barely, doesn't get the credit she deserves in this. This is my third movie with Robert altman and it is a beautifully haunting, dream-like film. In fact I believe Altman has said the idea of this film came to him in a dream. The idea of people, who they are and what they mean, bend and flex day to day, hour to hour, maybe even minute by minute. And as the hand ticks, we open our eyes, and realize maybe we aren't who we are. Maybe we just simply aren't, but maybe we are. Maybe. I guess that's the point. 4½ stars.
Started good. I didn't believe the character changes. I think it was a bit weird for the sake of art.
