Clearly not a movie you should watch for the story or cinematography. But the coreography, oh boy.
Scott Adkins certantly is the one of best actors of martials arts. Great Movie.
Like most Scott Adkins films, this one is so thin you could spit through and never get it wet. The fight choreography is excellent and that's all you're watching this for. The story is ridiculously lame amd mirrors several other action/fight movies (Jean Claude Van Damme's _Lionheart_ comes immediately to mind.) The ending is even more shallow and silly, but again, if you're watching these expecting a really deep storyline, I question your judgement about ANYTHING, especially movies. Scott Adkins has some great on-screen skills (not sure what his real-life martial arts background is, if anything) but I, for one, would like to see him in a "real" movie opposite some A-List actors, to see if they could/would bring out a more complete, enjoyable actor. As it is, he seems to be absolutely mired in the muck of fake Russian accents, dim lighting, and on-screen fighting, and nothing more. (His role in _John Wick 4_ was ludicrous and doesn't count.) I'd like to know if the guy can actually ACT, or if he's just another one-trick pony, _a la_ Steven Seagal or Jean Claude van Damme. The whole _Boyka_ series really has done nothing but pigeonhole him into a very limited role. I hope he can break out of it because these stories, frankly, seem to be beneath him. They're enjoyable martial arts/action movies, but woefully thin and nothing that anyone is going to remember.
One of the best fighting movies of all time. Boyka deserves a place in the pantheon of action heroes and Scott Adkins is one of the greatest martial artists.
Story is total crap, I just skipped this movie to the fights because those are awesome!
