War is hell. This movie makes PTSD look like an even worse hell.
Despite what the name might suggest its not some cliche'd half-assed patriot job, more akin to born on the 4th of july but in a modern setting, much more visceral than for example Warfare (2025), which was just a offensively bad attempt to shock you with some lite gore and screaming. This one actually feels like theres substance to it. I liked it and fuck you if you disregard it because of it's silly cliche'd name. This is the blood and guts of war with all the piss and shit and the aftermath, and it doesn't try to make it any prettier than it sounds. Definitely the most anti-war, unflinchingly realistic iraq war movie i've ever seen that deserves more respect than it's name implies.
This was a good movie. Something to watch when you’re bored and can’t find anything good. The characters have depth
There is power in this story and the performances are great. As a film, however, its a little flawed due to sub plots that are hastily assembled. Still, this can be overlooked, as the messages conveyed matter more than the missteps taken with the plottimg.
**Just 144 viewers for an above average film**. A movie that in the opening week had grossed more than its cost from just US movie theaters sales **and in which strangely more than 68% of both, critics and viewers, agree that’s a movie well above average**. As a matter of fact, it has received in **Rotten Tomatoes’** critics & viewers **a solid 77% with 5,700 user ratings**, **Metacritic got an aggregated Metascore of 68%** for this film, and a **IMDb’s viewer score of 6.6** after 1,259 users reviews. **I don’t understand why it hasn't been seen by almost anyone that uses Tratk.tv**. Maybe there is something that I am missing about this movie. _If anyone would be so kind to shed some light on what I may be missing or why this is happening to this specific movie, I would love to hear from him/her_, as _**I would be very pleased to learn what it’s that I'm been unable grasp, understand on my own**_.
